Newsweek checks in with Sid and Marty Krofft on the set of the upcoming "Land of the Lost" feature film.
If the Krofft cult, now middle aged, brings their children to see what they watched as kids, Lost will be a hit next summer, and Sid and Marty have a real shot at getting the rest of their classic shows turned into big-budget pictures. That would be heaven for both of them. They're old-timers in a "What have you done for me lately?" business. For Sid, 78, and Marty, 71, this is their last chance to stretch their legacy to a new generation.

Sixties star Helen Shapiro presents the story of a lost TV interview with the Beatles that was recorded in April 1964 and recently found languishing in a rusty film can in a garage in South London. Experts say it's the earliest surviving interview where Lennon and McCartney talk about how they met and discuss the song writing process. With contributions from the original TV interviewer Paul Young - who had never seen the footage, which was part of a regional television programme broadcast only in Scotland - Beatles expert and writer Mark Lewisohn and Dick Fiddy of the BFI.

Superman at 70: Superman and the Mole Men movie posters and lobby cards

Casting news for The Prisoner
Sir Ian McKellan will play the sinister Number 2 in a six-episode remake of "The Prisoner" to air on UK television next year. Jim Caviezel, who appeared in "The Passion of the Christ" will play protagonist Number 6.
According to the BBC:
Sir Ian has called this version of The Prisoner "an enthralling commentary on modern culture."
"It is witty, intelligent and disturbing. I am very excited to be involved," he added.
Writer Bill Gallagher, who watched the original series when he was a boy, said: "Here was something that was more than television, something I couldn't quite grasp but couldn't let go of.
"It's a unique opportunity for a writer to be able to go back to The Village and tell some new stories about that strange place and its surreal menace.
"We hope to serve up something as beguiling and disturbing as the original was."

The Wrecking Crew--the group of studio musicians who supplied backing tracks for a zillion 1960s hits by the Beach Boys, the Monkees, Phil Spector and many more--has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Among those attending were Hal Blaine, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer on songs including "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Strangers in the Night," "Good Vibrations" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water"; guitarist Glen Campbell; Danny Tedesco, son of the late guitarist Tommy Tedesco; bassist Jimmy Bond; and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.
