Complete Batman TV show on DVD listed at Amazon - "limited edition" Blu-ray, too

Updating a post from earlier today: Amazon is listing the Complete 1960s Batman TV for pre-order in both a regular DVD edition and "limited edition" Blu-ray.

No details on either, yet, but we'll keep you posted.

The DVD set is listed at $179.74 (regular price $199.70) while the Blu-ray set is $188.98 (regular price $269.97).

I'd imagine the price, at least for the DVD set, will drop a bit. Amazon does have its pre-order price guarantee, though, if you just can't bear to wait any longer. The means you'll be credited for any difference if the price drops between the time you order and the time the set ships.

Complete Batman TV series on Blu-ray now up for Amazon pre-order

Amazon is listing the Blu-ray set of Batman: The Complete TV Series for pre-order now. No specs provided yet, and the price is a hefty $188.98 (discounted from an even heftier $269.97). Also no listing, yet, for a straight DVD version.

We'll share more info as we get it. But, for those of us who have waited years and years to see this show on official home video, just the notion it's actually coming out is pretty exciting.

Here's a teaser for the series:

Pop Focus: Disney live-action films of the 1970s pt. 2!

Pop culture, so far as this blog is concerned, essentially ends in 1979, so here's the last of our installments spotlighting Disney's live-action films from the 1950s to the 1970s.

As I mentioned last time out, this is the era when I was seeing many of these films in the theater and I have fondish memories of many.

The era sees Kurt Russsell's teen star years wrapping up as the stage set for Jodie Foster. She's great in "Freaky Friday," which has held up very well.

I also loved "Escape from Witch Mountain," which seemed spooky and mysterious at age 9. "The Shaggy D.A" doesn't quite match up to Dean Jones' star turns from the late 1960s, when he was the new Fred McMurray.

"The Black Hole" is one I really need to revisit, just out of curiosity - Disney's attempt to do a "Star Wars."
