Sad to see Robert Lorick go, but happy to hear about his giving spirit - making the effort for the last adventure, to send out his last gift to us.

Now we will never know if Jack does marry Claudine, and move to the other world with her. Or if he meets up with the new/old Little Frieda, for another adventure. Or if he has another Steam Dream and visits the mystery floating island especially marked on Mazoola's map.

But we can imagine ...David Whyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17216806956936496342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10906797.post-56445484932025314202016-01-29T18:43:08.719-05:002016-01-29T18:43:08.719-05:00PS: I didn't know what Mr. Lorick looked like...PS: I didn't know what Mr. Lorick looked like until yesterday. I agree people's voices usually don't match their physical appearance, but not Robert. He is exactly as I imagined he would look. I felt like I was gazing upon an old friend. That was in 1995. I was at the library looking for an audio book to listen to help battle persistent insomnia and anxiety. Not only has Jack Flanders brought me comfort most nights for the past 20 years, his story telling took me to magical places, opened my mind to new possibilities, and deepened my spiritual awareness. In real life, Mr. Lorick treated me with kindness. He accepted my friend request on FB even though he didn't know me, and we played Words with Friends regularly for a couple of years. I used to send him occasional notes telling him how much I admired him and how his stories helped me through difficult moments in my life. He responded once (oh, how thrilled I was at that!) and told me how everyone at zbs wanted to make peoples lives more spiritually fulfilling and that's why they did the Jack Flanders Adventures. I had no idea he suffered so in life. My heart is heavy, my eyes bleary. With Robert Lorick's passing, the world lost its most beautiful voice. Death is never the end of things; it is but a doorway. Happy travels, my cosmic adventurer. May your soul be free to embark on the grandest adventure of all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10906797.post-18708312662627387742016-01-29T11:28:07.345-05:002016-01-29T11:28:07.345-05:00Thanks Glenn.
