London's Indica Gallery, where John Lennon first met Yoko One, has been recreated

The exhibition consists of works by artists such as Ono, some of which were shown at the original gallery and some newer works, as well as a series of specially commissioned pieces by some younger, modern counterparts, all of which relate in some way to each other. "London is at the zeitgeist of the contemporary art scene and we wanted to see how the work from this earlier, more innocent age, related to what is happening now," said Tot Taylor, a director of Riflemaker. "It is about comparing and contrasting the work."

Mike Allred's Madman has found a new publishing home at Image Comics, with a new series to begin in April. Before that, though, Image is releasing a humongous, 852-page hardcover that collects all the character's previous adventures.

Madman Gargantua! will carry a $125.00 cover price, and will be limited to 2,500 copies. Gargantua! will not be reprinted in this format.

The Beatles' Love will be producer George Martin's last album.

"I've had a pretty good run I must say. I started with the Beatles in 1962 and they broke up around about 1970 so we had a long period of time together," he said.

"It is the last I should think I shall do, because in two months' time I will be 81 and I am thinking of taking early retirement."

He thought Lennon would have balked at the idea of allowing a Las Vegas musical with Beatles music, but that the end result would have won him over.

"John, for all his inventions was really quite conservative sometimes about taking leaps in the dark, particularly where showbiz was concerned. He wasn't a showbiz person, but he was a great character."

NPR talks with Christopher Guest about his new flick, "For Your Consideration." And the New York Times has a review.

“For Your Consideration” is by far the broadest comedy Mr. Guest and company have made. Despite its merriment, it is also the flimsiest. Unlike Mr. Guest’s earlier films, the movie has no airs of being a fake documentary. As farce trumps satire, the humor’s subversive edge is lost, along with meaningful character development, with the brilliant exception of Ms. O’Hara’s Marilyn.

----------------------

The BBC talks with "Casino Royale" screenwriters Robert Wade and Neal Purvis.

Though there's often been talk of going back to basics with Bond and making him more 'Flemingian' this was the best opportunity ever because we're starting again with the first novel.

It was published in 1953 and it's Bond at the beginning of his career. We still had to satisfy people's expectations and have a certain amount of humour -that's one of the biggest differences between the films and the books. But we tried to be as faithful to the novel as possible and keep it fairly dark.

There's a new Beatles beatleg podcast up.

---------------------

UK musician Captain Sensible, a former member of pioneering punk band the Damned, has started a new political party in Britain.

The Blah! Party [is] campaigning for no-nonsense, straight-talking politics and aims to become the biggest political party in the UK with over 300,000 members. He's fed up with people marching on Westminster and then nothing happening, so he wants to take the politicians on, on their own turf. Come election time he wants people to vote for The Blah! Party and register a protest vote, then they'll be forced to listen. Your support would really be appreciated and everybody else who is currently fed up with the state of British politics.

A new documentary DVD and anthology album pay tribute to late Small Faces/Faces bassist Ronnie Lane.

Lane, who succumbed to multiple sclerosis in 1997, is best known to American listeners for such '60s and '70s hits as "Itchycoo Park" and "Ooh La La" and for his well-publicized fight against his disease. But that's a fraction of the story, and Lane's amazing life and his little-heard solo work are coming to light with the DVD release of a new documentary and a CD anthology.

Just issued by Eagle Vision, "The Passing Show" is a feature, produced and directed as a labor of love by BBC staffers Rupert Williams and James Mackie, that takes a deep look at Lane's career. "Just for a Moment," released by Lane Signature Sounds through indie Burnside Distribution, marks the first American CD release for many of Lane's finest solo recordings.
