Cary Elwes cast in Wonder Woman TV pilot

CORRECTION: I'd earlier said Elwes was playing Steve Trevor. My error, as pointed out by a commenter below. Here's the correct info:

Cary Elwes, star of "The Princess Bride" will appear as CEO of Themyscira Industries — the company owned by Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the upcoming Wonder Woman TV pilot.

Adrianne Palicki ("Friday Night Lights") will play the Amazon princess and Elizabeth Hurley has been cast as villainess Veronica Cale, a recurring character.

  1. My information has Cary Elwes playing Henry Demeter, CEO of Themyscria Industries, but I could be wrong.

  2. Cary Elwes has been around for a while (super detailed information about his acting career can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000144/).

While his "biggest" role is probably, indeed, Princess Bride, he was pretty good in, among others, Hot Shots! (featuring a still sane (?) Charlie Sheen), Shadow of the Vampire, and X-Files (he was in several episodes). He also had the main (victim) role in the original Saw.

According to the IMDB link, he'll be the voice of "George Harrison" on the upcoming computer animated version of Yellow Submarine!

  3. He was Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Men in Tights and was recently on a couple of episodes of Psych on USA network.
