A new film by animation master Hayao Miyazaki will be out in summer 2008.

Ponyo on a Cliff (Gake no ue no Ponyo), the story of Sasuke, a five-year-old boy , and a Princess Goldfish (Ponyo) that wants to become human. Production on the film began last October and it is slated to be released in the summer of 2008. Miyazaki is creating the storyboards himself in watercolors and it is thought that the feature will be produced in the traditional hand-drawn 2-D manner.

Meanwhile, Fantagraphics has details on its Free Comic Book Day offering, which collects rare Peanuts strips.

For the first time in more than 40 years, good ol' Charlie Brown and the entire PEANUTS gang will be featured in the traditional American comic book format, when Seattle's Fantagraphics Books publishes THE UNSEEN PEANUTS. The last issue of Gold Key Publishing's PEANUTS series, published in 1964, sold for 12 cents. On May 5, 2007, when THE UNSEEN PEANUTS is released, the price will be... FREE!

Mike Sterling spotted an interesting ad in the new Mad magazine. Evidently, if you subsribe to the Mad Classics reprint title, you get a free, original copy of this Mad issue that, for some reason, was returned by retailers in droves when it first came out in 1974.
