Changed my mind.
After nearly a year off and my Big Writing Project nearly complete (you'll get details when I'm ready) I've decided to jump back into Pop Culture Safari! again.
I'm constantly going down pop culture rabbit holes and I continue to track the latest news and pay attention to what's coming up in the world of comic book, book, TV, movie and music, so why not share what I find?
But this time, I'm planning to do it as a newsletter. That means charging a bit of money, but I think that's reasonable. This sort of thing takes time and has value to readers. At least I think/hope so. And I hope that you will agree, and that you'll try it out.
Subscribers will get multiple posts each week. Regular features for year one will include:
- Coming Up: Info on newly announced comics collections, pop culture books and LPs.
- Recommended New Releases: comics, books, music and movies.
- Sunday Reads: A curated list of articles and posts that caught my eye during the previous week.
- Pop Diary: A monthly overview of what I've been reading, watching, hearing and more.
- New Music I Like: Videos of new tunes I've added to my personal playlist.
- A Look Back at 1976 featuring comic book covers, select songs, movie trailers and various ephemera from our Bicentennial Year.
- Plus Pop Artifacts, Pop Pics and various things you've seen here over the years.
I recognize that there are fans of this blog who've checked it out daily over the years and I want to keep you in the fold.
To say thanks, I'm going to provide 10 or so free, lifetime subscriptions to the Pop Culture Safari! newsletter.
If you want one, send me a note with your preferred email address popculturesafari@gmail.com by Dec. 15 and I'll set you up with a comp subscription. I've already added a few people to the list. If I get lots of requests, I'll choose the names of commenters and fellow bloggers that I recognize.
And if you want to just flat out subscribe, you can do it here. And many thanks for doing so!
Excited to be back.
