Artist John Byrne enjoyed a classic run on the X-Men alongside writer Chris Claremont back in the 1980s and revisited the characters a bit afterward as both writer and/or writers, but it's been a long time since we've seen his distinctive work on everybody's favorite mutants.
That changes with this series of three books from Abrams ComicArts imprint, the first of which will be out in June.
"X-Men: Elsewhen" picks up the famed Dark Phoenix that Byrne and Claremont chronicled during their run and shifts into a different universe where Jean Grey is still alive and much different. The story will include appearances by X-Men foes the Sentinels and fellow Marvel Universe characters such as the Fantastic Four and Avengers.
The first volume will be a 232-page hardcover, and you can pre-order it now.
