Beach Boys Unveil 'Pet Sounds' 60th Anniversary Releases, Including Vinyl Cut from Original Masters and Zeotrope Vinyl

The Beach Boys on Monday announced several of audio releases tied to the the 6oth anniversary of their legendary Pet Sounds LP. 

Audio releases are out May 15.

Pet Sounds Vinylphyle 2-LP Set

Premium Vinylphyle reissue celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Beach Boys' legendary masterpiece, which includes the classic singles “God Only Knows," “Sloop John B" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice." 

Pressed at RTI on 180g black vinyl and cut from original mono and stereo analog tapes by Joe Nino-Hernes at Sterling Sound, this newly remastered, limited edition features a gatefold tip-on jacket and 4-panel insert with all-new liner notes. Each Vinylphyle release features all analog mastering from original sources by an elite group of today’s top vinyl cutting engineers (unless sequenced analog masters don’t exist). 

The LPs are pressed at the world-class audiophile vinyl record pressing plant RTI, on 180-gram black vinyl. The production and packaging seek to honor the stature of these recordings and include tip-on wrapped gatefold jackets in satin matte finish, printed on clay-coated board, with archival poly sleeves and a four-panel insert featuring new liner notes. 

Backed by RTI’s craftsmanship, these releases are produced at the highest levels and include extensive quality controls at every step of the process, from mastering to plating to pressing and printing, ensuring an exceptional final product.

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Beach Boy's legendary masterpiece, this limited edition custom zoetrope vinyl also includes a textured front cover treatment. 

Pet Sounds Sessions Highlights 2-LP Set (Splatter Vinyl)

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Beach Boys' legendary masterpiece, this exclusive limited edition Pet Sounds Sessions Highlights 2LP features selections from the 1997 Grammy-nominated 4CD box set The Pet Sounds Sessions and is pressed on white/green splatter color vinyl with a textured tip-on jacket. It includes 25 Pet Sounds a cappellas, alternate versions and tracking sessions (all on vinyl for the first time), along with new liner notes.
