Typenerd, indeed. Things are pretty bad when you can't even thrown in friggin' Bat symbol behind the type. And those "New Adventures"-era comics? Man, they sucked.
Yo soy espaƱola y creo que la varicion del logotipo de Batman ha sido meramente espectacular y maravillosa, por lo cual agradezco mucho la invitacion a esta bella exposicion. Gracias por haberme dedicado estos bonitos momentos
heard a lecture on graphic logos. one sample they used was the batman emblem (on his chest). this ph.d dude said that the circle was (a) actually a sillhouette of a bat flying across the moon as backdrop; (b) it represents the bat signal refracting from the clouds and (c) the dark knight is nocturnal. any truth to this, batgeeks?
omg, your blog rocks... thank you!

ReplyDeleteThat 1972 Batman looks a little like the X-Men's Wolverine, especially with that subtle drop of off-white/yellow on the crown of his head.
ReplyDeleteI can't see the logos. I was so excited! All I get Is "Photobucket.com bandwidth exceeded" I'm bummed. What do I do?

I'm spanish too, and nobody talks like that unless is using the google translator, or on drugs.

ReplyDeleteAccording to Jeph Loeb when asked this in an interview it's for 2 reasons.
ReplyDelete1) For the comics the yellow makes a godd contrast against the black of his batsuit (this is why the belt is yellow too)
2) It makes a target for criminals to shoot at, deflecting attention from his head which is quite vulnerable.
Hope this helps
