British humorist Spike Milligan gets credit for penning the world's funniest joke. Personally, I think the line Spike proposed for his tombstone is even funnier: "I told you I was ill." More Milliganisms.

DVD: The Bill Cosby Show - Season One due Aug. 22

Step aside Cliff Huxtable--This is Cosby's first solo TV series, starring as high school teacher Cliff Kincaid and grooving to a great Quincy Jones soundtrack.

The Bill Cosby Show: Season One, Cosby's Emmy-nominated first situation comedy (featuring 26 fully restored uncut episodes from the 1969-70 season), is a fresh mix of intelligent character studies and real-life situations, seamlessly infused with his trademark sense of humor and positive outlook.

Chet Kincaid (Cosby) is a gym teacher at an urban high school in Los Angeles, an all-around good guy and an inspiration to his friends, family and students. Chet's good heart gets him into tons of predicaments, such as losing a one-on-one basketball game to a student he considered too short to make the team, his accidental involvement in a domestic dispute when he answers a pay phone and going on a date in a borrowed garbage truck.

Includes music by Quincy Jones and guest appearances by:
* Academy Award-winner Lou Gossett Jr. (An Officer And A Gentleman)
* Henry Fonda (On Golden Pond)
* Cicely Tyson ("Roots")
* Elsa Lanchester (Bride Of Frankenstein)
* Wally Cox ("Mr. Peepers")
* And many others

DVD: Hazel The Complete First Season arrives Aug. 1

This four-disk set includes the entire first season of the Shirley Booth sitcom.

George Baxter was a highly successful corporation lawyer who was always in control of everything at the office, but almost nothing at home. When he returned from the office at day's end, to his wife Dorothy, and his young son Harold, he entered the world of Hazel. Hazel was the maid and housekeeper who ran the Baxxter household more efficiently than George ran his office. She was always right, knew exactly what needed doing, and pre-empted his authority with alarming, though, justified regularity.

No details on extras.

The set is available for pre-order now from Amazon.

DVD: The Kinks - Live Broadcasts coming July 18

Not too many details on this one. Here's what I've been able to find:

...features rare footage of the Kinks previously unreleased on DVD, featuring their greatest hits from rare live performances from television and film archives.

Songs: You Really Got Me, All Day And All Of The Night, Waterloo Sunset, Lola, Celluloid Heroes, No More Looking Back, Life On The Road, Sleepwalker, Misfits, Live Life and Lost And Found.

You can pre-order it now from Amazon.

DVD: "Veronica Mars" season 2 arrives Aug. 22

Collecting 22 episodes on six disks, this set also includes a "Day in the Life of Kristen Bell" featurette and 22 minutes of deleted scenes.

In the wealthy, seaside community of Neptune, California, the rich and powerful make the rules. Unfortunately for them, there's Veronica Mars, a smart, fearless 17-year-old apprentice private investigator. In season two, the Mars family finds themselves embroiled in another season-long mystery hitting closer to home, following a new local tragedy. Meanwhile, after a summer of surprises and sordid murder trials, Logan and best friend Duncan Kane find themselves at odds, while Veronica must deal with her increasingly complicated romantic life and a whole new school year with familiar and surprising fresh faces.
