Roy Thomas and Stan Lee collaborate on "Marvel Universe" book

Out in September, "Stan Lee's Amazing Marvel Universe" is a book that also includes built-in, playable audio commentary by comics scribe Lee. Longtime comics writer Roy Thomas handles the text.

Here's a description:

Experience the Marvel Universe in a whole new way—guided by the master himself in a gorgeous, deluxe volume with audio files that actually feature Stan Lee speaking.

Lee is known and beloved to millions as the man who helped propel Marvel to its preeminent position in the comic book industry.

From The Incredible Hulk to The Fantastic Four, his work has left an indelible mark not only in comics, but also in movies and TV.

That’s why his huge number of fans will be thrilled with this unique and beautifully designed full-color book, printed on art-quality paper. It presents 50 top Marvel happenings, arranged chronologically, plus 68 audio tracks (45 minutes running time) of Lee’s fascinating commentary.

The format, which contains an actual 2" speaker, allows you to skip and scroll easily to wherever you want. There’s even a 3-digit LCD display

Anyone who’s ever wondered why the Hulk started out gray and then changed to green, what Stan was thinking when he agreed to kill off Gwen Stacy, and why Lee decided to make Daredevil blind, will finally find the answers.

The book is profusely illustrated, showcasing ten thematic spreads that detail such subjects as the “Women of Marvel,” “Marvel vs. DC,” “Morality in the Marvel Universe,” and “Spider-Man’s Artists.”

The book is available for pre-order now from Amazon.

Acquired in 2005 by entrepreneur Monty Sarhan, CRACKED spent the last year-and-a-half on hiatus while undergoing a total re-design and "re-imagining" as a humor magazine for a new generation. The all-new CRACKED features articles, parodies, magazine spoofs, pranks, recurring columns and a completely new section called "But Seriously ... " with news, reviews and interviews covering the world of comedy.

The new CRACKED has almost doubled in size-from 48 pages to 80 full-color pages on glossy paper. With a cover price of $3.99, the new CRACKED will be available nationwide. It is being distributed by Curtis Circulation, the largest distributor of magazines in North America.

by TODD DEZAGO & ERIC NOLEN-WEATHINGTON

The latest volume of the Modern Masters series looks at the life and
work of one of today’s top comic-book artists, Mike Wieringo. Like the
title character of his first major job, The Flash, Wieringo hit the
comic book industry running. Armed with a fresh, unique style all his
own—merging elements of manga with the power of the Marvel comics of
his
youth—he quickly became a fan-favorite. His work featuring Robin and
Superman, Spider-Man and the X-Men—not to mention the creator-owned
world of Tellos—has cemented him as one of the top artists in the
business. And his recent run on Fantastic Four ranks among the best in
the title’s long and prestigious history. Now Todd Dezago and Eric
Nolen-Weathington give you an inside look at the artist’s life and
career! This 120-page volume presents his most comprehensive,
career-spanning interview to date, and is jam-packed with tons of rare
and unpublished artwork, including an 8-page full color gallery. It’s
the ultimate look at the work of a true Modern Master: Mike Wieringo!

Super Powers, we’ll cover them all, and present plenty of never-seen
1960s Marvel pencil art! Also included is a rare KIRBY interview, MARK
EVANIER’s regular column, two pencil art galleries, a complete
