Duane Eddy teams with Richard Hawley for new album
The awesome guitar twanger Duane Eddy has a new album coming out produced by British singer/guitarist Richard Hawley, who's pretty good himself. Could be an interesting listen.
Rare photos of Spider-Man creator Steve Ditko in yearbook
An eBay listing for a 1944 Johnstown, Pa., high school yearbook includes some images of a young Steve Ditko, reclusive co-creator of Spider-Man.
The book also includes this illustration, which the seller believes may be by Ditko. Don't know. Looks to me like it could be.
At any rate, the listing also includes a number of photos of the young artist. There are very few public photos of Ditko around, so this is interesting -- although the seller goes to somewhat hyperbolic lengths to tout the book's historical significance.

Clash biopic in the works
The creation of London Calling is the basis of a new biopic about the Clash, reports the BBC.
Former Clash members Paul Simonon and Mick Jones will executive produce the film, named after the 1979 record.
Playwright Jez Butterworth will pen the script, which will tell how producer Guy Stevens worked with the band to create their most celebrated disc.

The Beatles' India
The Huffington Post takes a look at the now-abandoned ashram where the Fabs learned meditation from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Today, the "Beatles' Ashram" is still nestled in the Himalayan foothills, overgrown and abandoned, yet at points overlooking the ice-blue Ganges' holy waters. Cows graze outside former homes, monkey troops are entrenched on rooftops, and cobwebs yield encounters with unpleasantly large eight-legged friends. In short, it's an adventurer's dream: see for yourself!
