Pop Culture Roundup: June Foray; Dali
So long, June Foray, voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel and a zillion more classic cartoon characters, who died this week at age 99. Leonard Maltin and Foray's friend, Mark Evanier, are among those paying tribute.
Evanier: Everyone hired her because she was always on time, always professional and what she did was always good. It was her good friend, director Chuck Jones who said, "June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc is the male June Foray."

A 1969 edition of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" illustrated by Salvador Dali is back in print.
Gallery: Batman prints by Dick Sprang
Via Heritage Auctions. Sprang is one of my favorite Bat-artists. He was drew the Caped Crusader through the 1940s and 50s and I love his dramatic, angular, noir-toon style.
These pieces, done for a series of limited-edition lithographs, were done in the 1990s and look pretty dang good, considering Sprang had long since retired from comics when he created them.
