Pop focus: Jane Fonda as Barbarella

Can't say I'm much of a fan of this cult flick, but I found a bunch of cool images from it, so what the heck.

Based on the racy French comic by Jean-Claude Forest, the 1968 film starring Jane Fonda and directed by then-husband Roger Vadim is a good example of 1960s camp -- all winking "sophistication" and irony.

Trouble is, Vadim and cast don't really tap the humor and it all ends up coming across rather thin and aimless. It was probably more fun to make than it is to watch, though the crazy sets and costumes are worth a gander.
