Beatles quiz: Who wrote it, John or Paul?
Slate has a fun quiz today where you're asked to guess who wrote particular Beatles tunes: John Lennon or Paul McCartney.
Although, the pair are listed as co-writers on all their Fab Four hits, they wrote the majority of them separately, with occasional input from the other. Some tunes they really did write together "eyeball to eyeball."
In later interviews, both Lennon and McCartney detailed who wrote what, although they didn't always necessarily remember all the specifics. And sometimes they disagreed as to which partner had the most input, or the initial idea for a song. Collaborations are like that.

Pop culture roundup: Real newspaper becomes Daily Planet! Doctor Who meets Abbey Road! The Credible Hulk!
The Hutchinson (Kansas) News changed its name to the Daily Planet for a special "Smallville Edition" last week to coincide with a local "Smallville Day" held there June 21.
The Beatles's Abbey Road LP cover gets parodied every other day, it seems. But I like this new Doctor Who t-shirt design, which substitutes a Dalek, a Silent, a Cyberman and a Weeping Angel for John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Mayor Bob Bush said he is going to “try to find my inner child” as he presents the proclamation during the June 18 meeting.
It’s an effort that was started by three Hutchinson natives nearly a year ago, when Christopher Wietrick, Ben Eisiminger and Casey McNeely started gathering similarities between Clark Kent’s hometown and Hutchinson.
